Zero. Nada. Zilch.

Too expensive of a hobby for someone like me.

Hoping to be a Preceptor N3 Pup pilot in the near future. Maybe I'm putting the carriage before the horse or whatever that saying is.

The Pup I'm looking at is almost identical in the paint scheme. I guess most are, but I've seen some really different ones out there.

I trying to smooth over the wife about buying one locally. Almost there, just a little more butt kissing. :D

I'll definitely know by this weekend.

I live next to the airport. That's about as close as I'll probably ever get. I do love to watch the planes and helicopters fly over on landing approach. I'm one of those crazy people that has to run outside everytime I hear something different. I've always wanted to learn to fly but it's never been in the budget.

That's exactly why I took the ultralight route. $80/hour for a 30 year old, 15K, bucket of bolts Cessna 152???

SHEESH!!!! :banghead:

You might also want to think about a balloon rating. The rating and used gear are fairly cheap, and not as boring as one might think. I have been considering it.

Then we can make our "get-togethers" FLY-IN get togethers!

I'm hoping so. I would like to get my private ticket as an owner/operator.

Here is a great place to monitor the toy liquidation in aviation:

Right now owners are selling to cover their plane loans, but soon they may take anything they can get...

Re: GIM Pilot Rating/Skills Poll (GIM Air Force Roll Call)

I have an atp with two type ratings. I have yet to have as much fun as I did flying the bushplanes though. I spent most of my time in a Cessna 206 on wheels in SE Alaska. Did things with that airplane that would have had the designers shaking their heads in disbelief. Also spent a little time in tail dragggers and floatplanes of various makes and models.

In a SHTF scenario I will be borrowing the nearest small aircraft to get to my bug out place.

Got the wife to sign off, now I have an N3 Pup.

I forgot, no black bolts on the side. Hell, it looks cleaner that way.

No pilot's license. I did solo when I was a teenager, and my first job was as a lineboy at a small airport. I've also been a member of the CAF off and on for a number of years (love those warbirds). My father was a private pilot, airline pilot, and after retirement from the airline, a Forest Service pilot.
